Ingredients
Walnut Oil Vinaigrette
1/3cupwalnut oil
3tablespoonsred wine vinegar
2teaspoonsDijon mustard
1clovegarliccrushed
dashsalt
French Salad with Walnuts
8cupsmixed greens
1 1/2cupsred grapessliced in half
2pearspeeled and chopped
3/4cupwalnutschopped
1/2cuphard cheese such as Parmesanshaved
Instructions
Whisk together the walnut oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, and salt. Refrigerate until cold.
Peel and chop pears, slice grapes, and chop walnuts.
In a large salad bowl, toss pears, grapes, and walnuts with mixed greens.
Pour walnut oil vinaigrette over salad and toss until covered. Serve immediately.
Notes
As a substitute for mixed greens, you can also use spinach or a spinach arugula mix.I used shaved Parmesan for the cheese garnish. It's not French, but it's still very popular in France!
